Science News for Kids

Science News for Kids is a Web site (www.sciencenewsforkids.org) devoted to children of ages 9 to 14, their teachers and their parents. We have found that many younger and older visitors also enjoy its pages. It offers timely, interesting news stories and features, accompanied by suggestions for hands-on activities, books and articles to read, and Web resources. It attracts over two million visitors annually.

Six sections of Science News for Kids are devoted to particular interests. There's a weekly brainteaser for those who enjoy solving and inventing puzzles (PuzzleZone). The GameZone contains logic and memory games. ScienceFairZone provides topic ideas and tips for science fair projects and showcases winners of national science competitions. The LabZone features a weekly hands-on activity, and SciFiZone introduces young readers to the world of science fiction.

The TeacherZone has materials, some related to the feature article of the week, to assist teachers in bringing science news topics to the classroom. It also enhances the usefulness of Science News in the middle-school classroom.  We also invite you to sign up for the weekly e-newsletter from Science News for Kids.

Science News for Kids has been funded by grants from several corporations and foundations.
