Compete in the Intel®   Science Talent Search®

"The contest does not just evaluate; it stimulates. Its very existence inspires and nurtures careers in science, forcing students who may have only a slight glimmer of what their life’s work will be to test their potential by performing full-blown scientific research."
   - Joseph Berger, The Young Scientists (Addison-Wesley)

The Evaluation and Judging Process:

Intel STS applications are first checked for eligibility, including meeting the Application Deadline, completing every portion of the application, and qualifying as a contestant. Eligible Intel STS entrants are then evaluated and scored by a highly

dedicated committee of over 100 pre-eminent scientific professionals. Each qualified project is scored based upon the online application questions, the Research Report, and the overall scientific potential of the student.

The top 300 entries are named semifinalists and are then reviewed again by a board of 11 distinguished scientists from a variety of disciplines. Each year in late January, from among the 300 semifinalists, 40 finalists are announced. Each finalist will attend the Intel Science Talent Institute in March in Washington, D.C. to compete for top awards.
