Getting your Project Display to Intel ISEF 2008
General Shipping Information
Society for Science & the Public and the Atlanta Host Committee have made special
arrangements with United Parcel Service and Freeman Exhibit
Transportation to provide Intel ISEF participants with the easiest and in most
cases, the most economical method for shipping projects both to and from Atlanta, Georgia.
Alternately you can hand-carry your project or use another freight service. Please find
below additional information about each of these four methods for getting your project to
the Intel ISEF.
In ALL cases:
- Reference the following information that details shipping procedures and provides the
appropriate address labels.
- Make certain that your project is properly packaged and that the container is sufficient
to withstand the rigors of cross-country travel. This will help to insure that your project
arrives at the proper location in Atlanta in good condition and on time.
- List your name and Project ID #/Booth # on the outside box. Sent to you via email and
listed online at
www.societyforscience.org/isef/students/pidlist.asp.)
- Meet the deadlines for shipping via your chosen method
- NEVER ship directly to the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) or address other than those
provided via the official labels.
The four methods of shipping:
- Ship your project via United Parcel Service.
- Size and weight restrictions exist (may not exceed 120 lbs. and may not exceed 130 inches
in combined length and girth.) See
www.societyforscience.org/isef/students/upsship.pdf or within the Online Finalist
Questionnaire Packet for detailed information.
- You MUST use the UPS Shipping Label (
found here or printable from the Online Finalist Questionnaire Packet). A label sheet was
provided in the hard copy Finalist Packet for this purpose.
- Earliest Date to Receive: April 16
- Latest Date to Receive: May 7.
- Ship it via Freeman Exhibit Transportation - either ground or air service.
- If your project display does not meet the weight or size restrictions of UPS,
this is the recommended shipping method. Details and the proper form to complete
is at
www.societyforscience.org/isef/students/freeman.pdf
- You MUST use the HEAVY FREIGHT label (
found here or printable from the Online Finalist Questionnaire Packet.) A label sheet
was provided in the hard copy Finalist Packet for this purpose.
- Earliest Date to Receive: April 16
- Latest Date to Receive: May 7.
- Hand-carry your project with you to Atlanta. If this is your method of
choice, you have two ways of getting your project into the exhibit hall.
- If your project is light and manageable enough for you to hand carry, after
registering you can bring it into Exhibit Hall B-3 with you beginning on Sunday,
May 11 at 8 a.m.
- If your project is too heavy or too large to manage, you can deliver it via car,
bus or truck to the dock area of Exhibit Hall B-3. See
www.societyforscience.org/isef/students/dockdirections.pdf or within the Online Finalist Questionnaire
Packet for detailed information. The dock area for Exhibit Hall B–3 will be open Sunday,
May 11 from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
- Ship via an alternate carrier. Unfortunately, neither SSP staff
nor the Atlanta Host Committee will be able to assist you if you choose a shipping
method other than the ones outlined above. However, this is an option for shipping
your project as long as you follow the two rules below:
DO NOT, under any circumstances, ship your
project to the Georgia World Congress Center or to any address other than the ones found
in the Intel ISEF on-line shipping instructions.
