Program Information
Requirements for Fair Affiliation

To affiliate with the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), a regional science and engineering fair must meet the following requirements:

  1. The regional fair must have a minimum of 50 students in 9th to 12th grade or at least five senior high schools participating in its fair.
  2. The regional fair's students and schools must be located in an area or territory that is not covered by an existing Intel ISEF-affiliated fair.
  3. The regional fair's territory must have a logistically feasible geographic relationship such as a county, several counties, a state, or an entire nation that the sponsors of the fair can effectively serve.
  4. Students and schools participating in the regional fair must be in strict compliance of Intel ISEF Rules, SRC/IRB Operational Guidelines and Intel ISEF Judging Guide.
  5. The regional fair director must strictly adhere to the guidelines in the Affiliation Agreement.
  6. The regional fair director must submit all required affiliation paperwork by the established deadline.
  7. A state/national fair must meet the Special Requirements for Intel ISEF-affiliated State/National Fairs established by Society for Science & the Public.

Society for Science & the Public reserves the right to deny affiliation and/or participation to any fair at any time if it finds reasons that may impact negatively on the sound administration of the Intel ISEF.

Any final decision concerning the affiliation of any science and engineering fair with the Intel ISEF will be made by the Director of Science Education Programs at Society for Science & the Public.
