Carolyn Jons Inspired to Pursue Life of Science

Carolyn Jons received the Rising Star Award at the 2011 Broadcom MASTERS, winning her a trip to Broadcom MASTERS International, held in conjunction with the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. In 2012, she again qualified as a Broadcom MASTERS finalist, where she went on to win the 2nd Place Engineering Award.

Rising Star to Attend Broadcom MASTERS International

Krystal Horton won a Rising Star award at the 2013 Broadcom MASTERS. The Rising Star award includes an opportunity to attend Broadcom MASTERS International, being held in Los Angeles this May during the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

Maria Grimmett, Broadcom MASTERS and Intel ISEF Alumna, Continues Water Quality Research

Maria Elena Grimmett was a Broadcom MASTERS finalist in both 2011 and 2012. In 2012, she won the first place award in Mathematics. Maria also won a third award in Environmental Science at Intel ISEF 2013. She recently published her research in the Journal of Environmental Quality. Below she talks about her experiences in both SSP educational competitions and conducting research on water quality.

River Grace was the top winner of the 2013 Broadcom MASTERS, a national science, technology, engineering, and math competition for middle school students. He recently wrote a blog post for SSP about his research on tortoises and his experiences during and after the Broadcom MASTERS.

Ben Hylak, Broadcom MASTERS Alum, Writes Science Fiction Story for Tomorrow Project Anthology

Benjamin Hylak won 2nd place in the 2011 Broadcom MASTERS and his science fiction story, “Bread,” was recently featured in a Tomorrow Project anthology. Have your own science fiction ideas? Individuals worldwide between 13-25 can enter The Future: Powered by Fiction through December 31, 2013.
